Your Custom Engagement Session
So you booked you session now what?
Via email we will discuss location selection, time, and answer any questions you have.
I am excited to capture you and your loved one. Custom photography is unique because it not only captures what you look like at a certain point in time, it capture who you are. I aim to capture honest photos of you and your fiancé. The goal is to not get a stiff and posed shot of you two looking at the camera, but to capture the true essence of your Love. I take a documentary approach to photography and use my understanding of my equipment and natural light to create images that will become works of art that you can hang in your home. Here are a few tips to help you prepare for your session with me.
Location: Together we can decide on the best location for your photos. I have locations that I love to shoot at regularly but I am always open to new locations as well. Please check out some of my favorite locations at the bottom of my FAQ page You should choose a location that fits your style and personality. I also love to do shoot in home photo sessions. Some clients prefer their home because of the intimate and personal feel it provides. If you would like to choose this option please just let me know in your questionnaire.
Time: If we are shooting outdoors we will shoot either in the morning or in the evening. The light is typically to harsh mid day. Shots in the evening are set one hour before the sun sets for best lighting. If we are shooting in your home I prefer late morning, because this is usually when homes are lit best.
Length of Session: Sessions are usually up to an hour long. I rarely go over an hour. Don't worry this is enough time to get and adequate amount of photos for your gallery.
Props: I usually don't use props for my sessions. If you have something in mind please let me know.
Your Partners: We both know sometimes our partners are not excited to have their photos taken. I get it! To ease some of the anxiety make sure the day of your shoot you show them a little extra love. Be happy, be loving and try not to argue on your way to the session. On your way to the session bring up some positive memories you have experienced together. I will try my best to prompt you to continue to discus them so I can capture some authentic smiles during our session.
Do Not Worry About Posing! I Pose, Position, Prompt and Direct You on what to do the Whole Entire Time! You will know exactly what to do with your hand I promise! Most people express that they are awkward in front of the camera and don't know what to do. I always respond with, "I Do and thats my Job, not yours!" Trust me I got you, all you gotta to is get ready and show up.
Please arrive on time and be ready to start on time: remember your session is scheduled according to light. It is important that we start on time. Please plan for traffic or parking constrains, it is best to arrive 5 min. early.
